Specific Learning Pathways - Learning To Live And Lead With Purpose
The following information will allow you to see the specific learning that will take place during your internship depending on the track you select to apply for.
Small Group Track Specific Learning:
Overview: This internship track will focus specifically on training you to develop and direct adult ministries and small groups within the church. During this hands-on internship, you will be placed in a role of leadership where you will be providing direct support and shepherding for a community of small groups and/or other adult ministries. During the course of this internship track, interns will be developed in the following areas:
- Direct Leadership and Care for Small Groups and Adult Ministries
- Training and Health of Group/Ministry Leaders
- Personal Training and Support For Small Groups
- Connecting People to Small Groups and Ministries
- Leadership development for new ministries and groups
- Strategic Planning for ministries and groups
- Critical thinking and development
College/Young Adult Track Specific Learning. During the course of this internship track, interns will be developed in the following areas:
- Effective strategies for reaching college/young adults
- Models of spiritual growth for the 20's
- Leadership development
- Ministry management
- Project management
- Worship styles
- Small groups
Missions/401 Track Specific Learning. During the course of this internship track, interns will be developed in the following areas:
- Mobilize the Church Body to do Missions
- Understand Missions Philosophy and ability to communicate it
- Develop and sustain a compelling vision for PEACE in a church
- Develop a long-term strategic missions plan on a local and international basis
- Understand, Design and Develop a Missions system
- Develop and Manage Funds for a Missions Ministry
- Work with others on a team to effectively accomplish objectives
- Lead Missions Teams
Develop the resources necessary for missions
- Plan for and meet the needs of Missions Teams. This may include: Spiritual, Biblical, Emotional, Philosophical, and Relational
- Use mapping resources to strategize geographically
- Obtain and Develop Key Contacts
- Research People Groups
- Determine and Assess Needs in the field
- Develop a Field Strategy to meet needs
- Utilize Task Forces to accomplish field strategy
- Develop and Maintain a heart for the lost
- Develop a Biblical World View
Better understand how God has shaped you for missions

Church Administration Track Specific Learning. During the course of this internship track, interns will be developed in the following areas:
- Organizational planning
- Volunteer recruitment
- Volunteer development
- Project management
- Ministry development
- Ministry budgeting
- Leadership development
- Research
Total Quality Management
- Pastoral care
Magnification / Creative Arts Track Specific Learning. During the course of this internship track, interns will be developed in the following areas:
- How to sustain a strong Worship Ethos that reflects the heart and intent of the Purpose Driven Church.
- Understanding the Magnification Philosophy and develop the ability to communicate it
Developing strong worship teams including additional worship bands, vocalists, choir and other support personnel.
- Assist the Magnification Director to oversee, train & develop all components of worship; adult choir, audio/visual, technical, youth bands, children's choirs, accompanists, equipment, instruments, stage set up etc.
Roster musicians, singers & worship leaders, where appropriate, to meet the worship needs of the different gatherings of the PDC Church.
- Coordinate the program & flow for the worship service.
- Develop a strategy to encourage, support, train & develop the Youth Music of a PDC
Assist the Magnification director in planning, conducting, and evaluating the worship services of the church.
Identify, train, develop & release members of the New Hope members who are called to minister (serve) in Worship, Music & Song both locally & beyond.
- Collaborate with the Magnification director to select and/or approve all music for all church services.
- Oversee, in cooperation with the Magnification Director and Senior Minister, the enlistment of special guest artists.
- Develop the wider area of the Arts within New Hope (ie Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Literary Arts)
